Description

Are you a youth with a disability (ages 15-35 years old) interested in starting your own business? If so, #RisingYouthpreneurNL is an event for you!

Join us at the Memorial Centre for Entrepreneurship (Engineering Building, Room 3075) on January 26th and 27th from 9:00am to 5:00pm each day to learn about the various supports available to you as you begin your entrepenial journey.

A list of speakers and the event agenda will be available soon, but here are a few speakers that will be present at this event in the meantime:

Stephen Quinn, Full Steam Ahead Coordinator at Empower, The Disability Resource Centre. Stephen assists persons with disabilities in their job search, explore returning to school, or starting a business.

Liam Flanagan, Start-Up Development Coordinator at Genesis, an organization that assists early start-up entrepreneurs. Liam is knowledgeable in many aspects of starting a business, including finding out what your customers want and need and creating memorable pitches.

Denise Cornick, has been helping females start businesses and improve their existing businesses as an Avalon Business Growth Advisor with the Newfoundland Labrador Organization for Women Entrepreneurs (NLOWE) since 2016.

Paul Power, owns Power Productions, which is a freelance production company based in NL dedicated to diversity in theatre performance and projects.

Scott Andrews, Business Development Manager with Futurpreneur Canada. Futrpreneur Canada is a national, non-profit organization that provides financing, mentoring, and support tools to youth aged 18 to 39 wanting to start a business.
