Experience the local music documentary that everyone is talking about, “Rock This Town KW”! The City of Waterloo Museum has arranged a special showing of the documentary that inspired our current exhibit, so get ready to be blown away with the rock and roll stories of our community. The showings will be on Sunday, February 26 at 12:15 p.m. and 2:15 p.m. in the theatre at the Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum. Afterwards, stick around for a Q&A session with movie producer Betty Anne Keller and local CKWR radio broadcaster and author of “The Back Door”, Coral Andrews.
This event is brought to you in partnership with the Rock This Town KW Team, and will be hosted at the Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum. On February 22, The Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum will be opening, Giving Voice, a look at the choirs of the area.
Coral Andrews will be joining Betty Anne Keller to share her rock ‘n’ roll stories from her new book, “The Back Door”. Andrews was part of the scene at the legendary Back Door bar beneath the Metro tavern. The book chronicles the musicians, artists and personalities that were part for Kitchener’s underground subculture from the 70s to the 90s. Copies of the book can be purchased with your ticket or at the event.
Also included are a few teasers for upcoming music movie projects. Aaron Francis will be on hand to share his NEW project with Digital Sabbath Film Company on the life of Waterloo musician Errol Starr Francis. And find out what is next for Rock This Town KW as they explore the 80s.
