Event description

Description

Towering limestone cliffs, caves and glacial potholes, including one of the world's largest, are a few of the natural wonders at Rockwood. You can view them from hiking trails on both sides of the Eramosa River. The ruins of the Harris & Co. Rockwood Woolen Mill are fun to explore.

Things to know:

  • Dress for the weather - layers best, no cotton
  • Hiking boots
  • Poles (personal choice)
  • ICERS/spikes likely due to ice (snowshoes maybe)
  • Hydration (insulated container)

Distance: Approx. 5km +/-

Terrain: Hilly in parts, possible rocks or deep snow and boardwalks

Pace: Comfortable walking & talking pace (3-4km per hour)

We meet at the school parking lot, just outside the park to carpool (Admission charge per car)
