Nobel Prize nominee visits Nanaimo, shares first hand accounts of struggle and resilience amongst the Rohingya people in Bangladesh

About this Event

Dr. Fozia Alvi, a recent Nobel Prize nominee, will share her efforts in helping the Rohingya people. A physician from Calgary, who has also been awarded the Paul Harris Award through Rotary Club International. Her work includes highlighting the struggles of the Rohingya people of Myanmar in Canada and abroad, as well as charitable work in Pakistan, Kenya and Bangladesh.

This informative evening will be held at the Nanaimo Convention Centre, Shaw Lobby and will include snacks, tea/coffee and a cash bar. There will be time for interaction after the presentation. Donations to Dr Alvi’s charity will be welcomed.
