Please note: this workshop requires at least 3 registered participants or it will be cancelled.

Romanesque bookbinding origins can be traced back to 1140-1200 AD in Europe. Books were treasured items in the Middle Ages; so much so that they were metal-chained to desks or shelves. In this workshop, students will learn a simplified version that has all sorts of creative and functional possibilities. Contemporary materials will be used.

All materials and tools are provided. Vegan option available. No experience is necessary.

Suzan Lee is a local bookbinding instructor who learned her bookbinding skills at the Center for Book Arts in New York. She is affiliated with the local chapter of the Canadian Bookbinders and Book Artists Guild (CBBAG). She has been teaching bookbinding for over 10 years. Her interest in bookbinding started with her fascination with the wide range of materials and structures involved in binding books.
