Poet and spoken word artist....

CLAY RAVENS:

Clay Ravens were founded on the honey-smoked harmonies of siblings Justin and Brianne Huntley-Smith. Growing up on Salt Spring Island, BC the duo chose music as their outlet into a bigger world and began their musical journey as a singer-songwriter project. After relocating to Vancouver BC, Clay Ravens began to refine their sound. They added bassist Kelsey Butkus and master fiddler Matt Cook-Contois whose musical prowess pushed the band into new territories. After releasing the Wildfire Demo EP in 2015, the band was compelled to move to a heavier rock sound. After months of searching, the band added Brendan Tyndall’s shredding twang electric guitar and Tim Lanham’s hard hitting drum beats to create their signature indie-folk sound.

In 2017 Clay Ravens released their sophomore All In EP which was received with critical acclaim. Through the combination of fate and will, the band has formed an extremely unique rocking indie-folk sound that has audiences on the tip of their toes screaming for more.

YEAR OF THE WOLF:

As Year of the Wolf is a band consisting of five members, Carson Webber, James Jeffrey, Chelsea Burden, Kyle Vaughan, and Chad Gilmour who through fortuitous circumstances have been given the opportunity to not only create honest and passionate music but also develop strong friendships with each other. Their dynamic as collective musicians is undeniable, each drawing from their individual experiences and collaborating to create a unique sound. Since forming in 2012 they have played on many stages throughout British Columbia including The World Ski & Snowboard festival, Tall Tree Music Festival and most recently Rock the Shores. Meeting in Vancouver in the summer of 2011, Kyle and Chad started Year of the Wolf as a two-piece guitar duo performing their first show in April 2012. The addition of drummer James came very shortly after and added a greatly anticipated rhythm foundation to the group. After playing as a trio for over a year the near completion of Year of the Wolf was realized with bassist Carson, who offers the band an unprecedented musical knowledge. Topped off with the musical prowess of Chelsea Burden.
Their musical identity is simple; four musicians who love music at any capacity and create songs that first and foremost they themselves personally enjoy. It is through this approach that they create music that is not confined by conventional ideas of genres. Honesty and integrity are crucial components of their music philosophy and the songs that they write and perform. As Year of the Wolf they are conscious not to isolate the audience but rather engage them through a performance that is inclusive as well as entertaining.

SMALL TOWN ARTILLERY:

Small Town Artillery are from Kaslo, BC - population 1000. Their mission is creating funk-influenced, melodic and heartfelt, riff-driven rock & roll. They’ve been booking their own tours, taking over backyards, clubs and festivals for 3 years. This is a DIY band that puts together an unforgettable live concert. Frontman Tom van Deursen cannot contain his excitement as he leaps on to the stage, ruby-red telecaster slung gregariously across his chest. Drummer & brother Derek van Deursen owns the throne behind the drums and provides the group with their foundation. Bassist Carson Webber is a consummate professional and incredible story teller - the perfect glue for the brothers. The band always tours with a full horn section. Always.
