Event description

Description

ROOTS: an evening of interdisciplinary performative storytelling
Created by Muna Youssouf and Lily Sutherland

ROOTS, an exciting new event held in the beautiful space of #hashtag gallery will explore themes of roots, home and displacement through a series of three distinct acts.

The first act will feature a new work-in-progress from Toronto-based artist, Muna Youssef, sharing a dramatic work based on her personal journey as a new Canadian; a girl who moved around a lot, before realizing the constant home in which she will always live.

The second act will be a theatre peice from Passing Through Theatre; a re-imagined edition of Ephemeral Home by Lily Sutherland, a multi-sensory creative journey which encourages the audience to question what home means to them. How are we shaped by the homes we were born into, the homes we create for ourselves, and homes we never expected to discover?

The third act will feature a selection of some of Toronto’s most exciting storytelling performers, soon to be announced.
