Roots Homeschool - Alberta Prairie Railroad Excursion

Roots Homeschooling is pleased to host an Alberta Prairie Railroad excursion.
This event is open to all homeschool families!
See and experience pioneer railway travel and learn about how the West was settled by the railways. Includes lesson plan, lunch, and guided tours of historic sights in Big Valley.
Riding the rails on a School Special will not only provide you with the unique experience of train transportation, but will also offers a wide range of educational opportunity involving Canadian heritage and the geography of the region.
Where is Alberta Prairie located?
Stettler, Alberta is over 200 km north east of Calgary. It is straight east of Red Deer on Hwy 12.
Alberta Prairie's station and passenger loading area is located at which is in the south-east part of town. Head for the only burgundy-coloured grain elevator and you will end up right at the station.

Ages: All ages are welcome (Babies, grandparents, and everyone in between).
Stroller Info: This excursion is stroller friendly except while on the train. You can grab your stroller when you get off the train at Long View.

My child is not registered with Roots, can they still attend?
Yes, this event is open to all homeschoolers and their families.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No, you do not have to bring a ticket. We will have a master list with all the attendees info.
If I am unable to attend may I get a refund?
We're sorry but we are unable to provide refunds. But, please feel free to find another family to sell or pass along your tickets to.
