Calgary Tower Field Trip - November 2, 2016 10am - 2pm.
Please arrive 10 minutes early and meet inside at the base of the tower.
Target Grades 3 - 5 (but can work for other grades)
Families with younger children are welcome but the organizer says they do find it difficult to have the younger ones participate due to differences in attention span and ability.
Registration Deadline October 17, 2016
Please bring a bag lunch and water
This full day field trip has two main group activities as well as an option of climbing the 802 stairs to the observation deck (before lunch). The first activity is building a tower using recycled materials. It covers information on how the City of Calgary and the tower was constructed as well covers wheels, levers and gears. The second component has the kids going through 9 different stations answering questions on a tablet. Topics ranging from landmark locating, high speed elevators, Canadian/Alberta history, construction, weather patterns and math skills.
