Roots Homeschool - Glenmore Sailing School

Roots students and parents are invited to come spend the day learning how to sail at the Glenmore Sailing School!
Skills that will be covered during this class time are: Boat safety, skipper and crew roles, steering with a tiller, sailing in a nutshell, where to sit, boat balance & tying knots. This will be a day filled with new skills and fun on the water! No previous sailing experience necessary (the class will teach from the basics up).
Date: June 2, 2017
Time: 10am -2:30pm
(Lunch break from 12-12:30, Please pack a lunch as there won't be time to leave and come back).
Location: Glenmore Sailing Club, 8415-24th Street SW
Grades: 9 and up only. Parents are welcomed and encouraged to participate!

Notes: Min. 10 participants, Max. 20. Bring a bag lunch and drinks.
We recommend students always bring a change of clothes including a change of underwear. Students should bring jackets, sweaters, grippy shoewear, and rainpants if applicable. We want to make sure students have as fun a time as possible and they can’t if they are cold! This fieldtrip will take place rain or shine so please come prepared. Anyone not dressed properly will not be allowed to sail (as per the Glenmore Sailing School) and will forfeit their payment.
