Join us for an interactive lesson on the lineage and fusion of African dances and their link to Caribbean dances.

Join us for a one-of-kind dance class that explores the roots of Afrofusion dance led by Zahra Badua and supported by our Artist in Residence (Dancer) Kelly-Ann Johnson.

Zahra Badua is a multifaceted artist whose work is deeply rooted in her love for dance, education, and the rich cultural heritage of the African diaspora. She is the founder of ZahraMoves, an educational and performance-based company that focuses on the historical, cultural, and artistic significance of African diasporic dances, while enabling emerging artists of color to grow, experiment, and develop their craft.

Kelly-Ann Johnson is a Toronto-based multidisciplinary dance artist, choreographer, movement director & runway coach. Specializing in Dancehall, ballroom - Runway, Afro-Caribbean, Jazz & urban styles. She lives her life like there is no box. Born in Jamaica and shaped by a lifelong connection to dance, music and art, Kelly-Ann brings her vibrant storytelling to every stage she steps on.⁠
