About the event

Inspired by Tupac’s moving poem “The Rose That Grew from Concrete” about flourishing in harsh conditions, we’re sharing candid expressions of the distinct beauty that’s emerged from our own trials in our environment. Join us in a night of soulful R&B paired with witty comedy by a curated set of rising performers that are moving as much as they are intelligent and well-crafted.

Nemahsis

If you like Yuna, you'll love Nemahsis. Hailing from Milton, Nemahsis is a R&B singer whose soulful, heartfelt voice always turns heads.

Salma Hindy

Salma Hindy is a Canadian born comedian that brings awareness to everyday events with a hint of humor. Her comedy is witty, bold and hilarious. Salma has been featured in CBC, Globe & Mail and has headlined a handful of comedy events.


Tam

Tam is a Brampton-based artist with depth of soul and an incredible story to go with it.He is able to transcend genres with his powerful and flexible voice. Combining elements of soul, R&B, pop and dance, his sound is modern but with a timelessness that all can appreciate.


Mileena

Mileena is a delightful singer-songwriter hailing from Brampton, Ontario. Her voice: angelic, cheerful and sweet. Penning her own nostalgic lyrics, she reminisces on good times, bad times and everything in between.
