Event description

Description

Join us for an evening reception and awards presentation as we celebrate some of Canada's best writers and recognize their accomplishments in faith and writing.

Keynote speakers include:

Parliamentary Poet Laureate of Canada George Elliott Clarke

Principal of St. Michael's College and Former President of PEN Canada Randy Boyagoda

ABOUT THE PRIZE:

The Ross and Davis Mitchell Prize for Faith and Writing is designed to help give voice to individuals and communities of faith and help to re-awaken Canadians to the powerful truth, goodness, and beauty that belief brings into our shared lives. Poetry and fiction that draw from the deep wells of religious tradition can provide those brief moments where the familiar world becomes strange, and those strange gods become familiar.

The Ross & Davis Mitchell Prize for Faith and Writing will award a total of $25,000 in prize money in the categories of short story and poetry.
