Event description

Description

The Lifers will be launching Honey Suite into the world on May 16th, followed by a string of North American and European tour dates - one of which will be at Simcoe Street Theatre in Collingwood!

~ Presented by: Route 26 ~

~ Sponsored by: The Town of Collingwood ~

Honey Suite:
The Lifers’ Honey Suite is a powerhouse art-folk record that confronts the fragility of our world and ourselves. Front-sisters Liv and Anita Cazzola root their songs in the dynamic strength of the female voice, and the ten songs they present are as eclectic as the situations they address. Honey Suite transports you from bedroom blankets to seaside towns to foreign planets. Employing conventional instruments in unconventional ways, from glitchy electro-tapestries to screaming six-strings, the Lifers’ latest is an unexpected adventure with an underlying message of hope. Folk music has never sounded so immediate.

The Lifers:
The Lifers, led by sisters Liv and Anita Cazzola, are an art-folk/rock collective from Guelph, Ontario. Their intertwined voices dynamically convey vulnerability and strength. Softly plucked strings, accordion swells, and lush cello and upright bass arrangements give way to rip-roaring drums, soaring melodies and overdriven frenetic strums. Followed by the release of Honey Suite (May 2018), The Lifers are touring across the US, Eastern & Central Canada, and Europe, gracing many festival stages along the way (including Summerfolk, Living Roots Festival, and Egersund Visefestival).
