The Clearly Musical Home Concert Series, hosted by Joanna Grace, features musicians in unique, up-close musical experiences that cannot be matched in large concert halls. In the Heart of Richmond Hill, these concerts bridge the gap between audiences and performers. You will have the opportunity to clearly see and hear the performance and ask questions to learn more about the violinist, Royce Rich!

1) Who is this event best suited for? Age 12 and up are welcome to attend. This event requires sitting attentively and quietly. This event is best suited for those interested in live musical performances and being up close to see and hear clearly.

2) What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? Free street parking is available. Close to Yonge Street, this Richmond Hill home is accessible by public transport. Details are sent with your RSVP and payment. Please be aware that this location is not wheelchair accessible and has steps to the front door and also to the washroom inside. If you have challenges with stairs, please communicate your concerns with the organizer before purchasing a ticket.

3) If you have pet or food allergies or sensitivities that may inhibit your enjoyment of this performance, please contact Joanna Grace before purchasing a ticket.

4) Can I purchase a ticket at the door? No, there are no ticket sales at the door. Because this a private residence and an intimate up-close experience, all seats must be reserved in advance.

ABOUT ROYCE: 20-year-old Canadian violinist, Royce Rich, has been performing onstage for fourteen years across British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario, as well as in Michigan, New York, Germany, Austria, and Italy. Specially memorable compliments come from venerated violinist, Prof. Shirley Givens from the Juilliard School of Music, "..you are a very gifted violinist", Midori Goto, "...you have wonderful ears and fingers" and Itzhak Perlman, "....this kid's got talent!". Royce's repertoire includes 24 concertos, 17 violin/piano duos, 15 Caprices by Paganini, the complete set of solo Partitas and Sonatas by Bach, as well as show pieces such as Sarasate’s Carmen Fantasy, Ravel’s Tzigane, Chausson’s Poeme, and Milstein’s Paganiniana Variations. In 2015 at the Casalmaggiore Int'l Festival in Italy, he was awarded the prestigious Gabora Prize for "Best Performance" with Witold Lutoslawski's Partita. He was also awarded 1st Prize and the Audience Prize at the 2016 Friends of Chamber Music Competition, as a member of the Bacewicz Violin Quartet, and in April of that year won 1st prize at the Vancouver Kiwanis Music Festival and the Performing Arts B.C. Competition.

In Royce’s spare time, he enjoys playing his music for retirement home residents, swimming, attending live concerts and playing chamber music with friends. He also enjoys posting content and staying connected with his social media following on Instagram. Royce studied with Martina Smazal, from the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, from 2006-2011, with Prof. Taras Gabora from 2011-2016 and is currently under the tutelage of renowned performance artist and pedagogue, Victor Danchenko, as a 3rd year undergraduate student at the Glenn Gould School in Toronto.
