About Us
The Rotary Club of Alliston was originally sponsored by the Rotary Clubs of Beeton and Bradford and was chartered in 1955. Rotary members are people of action that strive to do good in their local communities and around the world.
Among the most important charitable activities identified by the Rotary Club Alliston, based on input from the community, are youth-at-risk and mental health. The Run4Youth campaign addresses both. After more than a year of dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdowns, which have closed schools and isolated our youth from the socialization they so desperately need, many are suffering mental health impacts. Our goal as Rotarians is to help community organizations that can help our troubled youth.
With the help of our community and generous sponsors we supported fundraising campaigns for these local organizations and programs in the past year:
Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation
Alliston Out of the Cold
Sir Frederick Banting Legacy Foundation
Gibson Centre for Community, Arts and Culture
Frontline Workers at 4 Long-term Care Facilities
Residents of 3 Long-term Care Facilities
Alliston Lions’ Christmas Hamper
Scholarships for students at Banting Memorial High School
Sponsored an Interact Club for High School-aged Community Volunteers
The Rotary Club of Alliston also organizes the following community events:
Santa Claus Parade
Potato Festival Parade
12th Night Christmas Tree Bonfire
