Description

Find out how your rural organization can join the Social Economy...

Ontario's Social Economy is growing...and fast! Learn how this new economic and community development platform is helping rural non-profits leverage their impact and find out what's happening in Ontario to help underserviced rural communities become more sustainable for the future.

The Rural Collaborative Forum will bring together interested stakeholders and practitioners for vibrant dialogue and interactive sessions surrounding the growth of Ontario's social economy and relate it to opportunities to develop rural social enterprise.

The theme of this year’s Rural Forum is Connecting Communities – exploring how to support strong local networks that leverage the power of rural collaborative alliances to grow and strengthen rural economies. The Rural Collaborative Forum is hosted by SERA Community Ventures which facilitates the Social Enterprise Rural Alliance. This Forum builds on the successes of the 2015 Rural Collaborative Forum. If you misssed it, join us on October 20th!

SERA Community Ventures has also recently completed a year-long research study entitled “A Collaborative Approach to Understanding and Informing a Rural Alliance for Social Enterprise Development” and will be presenting the findings at the Rural Collaborative Forum on October 20, 2017 at Pinestone Resort in Haliburton.

We’ve also planned a special off-site tour to showcase unique models of rural enterprise and collaboration that you can use, along with sector-specific Meet Up session that will bring you face to face with other social rural innovators in your field and area of focus, such as food, housing, or the environment.

Join Us! Enjoy a full day of peer-to-peer learning about growing and sustaining the social economy in rural Ontario. Gain valuable insight on how you can leverage this emerging tool and investigate social enterprise for your non-profit, co-op, or entrepreneurial venture.
