In this course, you will learn about the "art of seeing." You will explore the use of light in taking your photographs, how to use exposure and focus to create better and more interesting images, how to improve your compositions and to take photographs that speak to you and to other viewers. You will then move beyond the basics towards developing your own preferred style of photography. We will examine the work of established and well-known photographers to identify the factors that make their work outstanding. After each class, you will put your learning to practice by taking your own photographs and bringing them back to your next class for discussion and learning in a supportive environment. By the end of the course, you will have begun to develop a portfolio of your own photography and some ideas about how to take your photography to the next level.
Please bring your own camera and a memory stick to class.
