Thinking about riding a bike to work or for fun? If it's your first time (or first time in a long time) this is a great place to start!

About this Event

Riding a bike is a great way to maintain social distancing while traveling to work, or as a way to stay active during COVID-19. In Safe Cycling 101, you'll learn everything you need to know to bike with confidence in the city.

What you'll learn:

  • Safety equipment (bells, lights and helmets)
  • Bike Fit
  • Bike safety check
  • Rights and responsibilities on the road
  • Hand signals
  • How to navigate intersections (left turns, right turns and riding straight)
  • Cycling courtesies
  • Riding with others
  • Sharing space with other vehicles
  • What to do in case of a collision
  • Route planning

This training will be facilitated by Cycle Toronto, a member-supported not-for-profit organization that works to transform our city’s cycling culture.
