About this event
Safe Passages is a group program and in-person retreat for femme-identifying survivors of human trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation age 18+ in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area). Funded by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS), the program offers a holistic model of support, addressing the specific needs of trafficked survivors. It is grounded on Indigenous healing approaches, survivor-centred principles of counselling and trauma-informed practices. Safe Passages was developed by sexual violence support experts in Ontario. The retreat component is co-facilitated by a trauma counsellor and Indigenous elder.
The in-person retreat will be held February 27 - March 3 2023. The 4 virtual pre-retreat groups and 2 virtual post-retreat group dates will be announced in the near future.
Service providers and survivors are invited to this information session to learn more about the program and how they can make a referral/participate. There will be an opportunity for questions at the end of the info session.
PLEASE NOTE THIS PROGRAM IS FOR FEMME-IDENTIFYING SURVIVORS OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING AND SEXUAL EXPLOITATION LIVING IN YORK REGION AND THE GREATER TORONTO AREA (ONTARIO, CANADA)
