Description

Join us on Saturday April 28 (9:00am-4:00pm) & Sunday April 29 (9:00am-4:00pm) for dedicated time and space for Indigenous graduate students to write and develop their scholarly practice.

Highlights of this two-day retreat include:

  • help to articulate writing goals
  • peer sharing opportunities
  • one-on-one time to meet with faculty mentors for writing support
  • copy-editing support for pieces in progress
  • one yoga class per day
  • food and light snacks provided


UPDATED: Sign up for sessions during the retreat to help you reach your goals:

(1) Editing Support One-on-one thorough editing and consultation of your writing from writing specialists. These sessions will be helpful with turning course papers into publications, or if you need editing of book chapters and dissertations.

(2) Indigenous Faculty Consultation Informal one-on-one consultation with Indigenous faculty members, including Dr. Jo-ann Archibald, Dr. Cash Ahenakew and Dr. Jan Hare. These sessions will be valuable for whatever stage of writing you may be at, as they will provide direction and guidance for your writing.

10:00- 12:00 Writing Block 1

1) Independent Writing

12:00- 1:00 Informal lunch

1:00- 2:30 Writing Block 2
