SAISONS 2015 Winter Wonder dinner with chef Jonathan Lapierre Rehayem
Description
SAISONS is a collection of curated gatherings staged in unique surroundings and headlining Montreal-based chefs working with seasonal ingredients with the express mission of promoting our distinctive Quebec cuisine.
This second edition of SAISONS welcomes chef Jonathan Lapierre Rehayem who has been creating outstanding dishes at Laloux–one of Montreal's most prestigious French restaurants–since 2011. Chef Lapierre has worked in some of France's most distinguished kitchens and has further honed his cooking skill by travelling and working in Asia. He is a true believer in using local products and highlighting Quebec purveyors and nothing gets him more excited than foraging for mushrooms or wild herbs. His ethical and sustainable approach to food making is one of the most remarquable in the country.
Jonathan will be taking guests of this second edition of SAISONS on a discovery of Quebec's winter ingredients and highlighting his philosophy of eating local and seasonal despite our frosty temperatures.
HOW IT WORKS
The SAISONS dinners are intimate seasonal events staged in unique locations to which a chef is invited to explore their favourite ingredients through their cooking. Each event’s multi-course menu will highlight what’s in season in and around Montreal at that time of year and feature foraged ingredients, along with unique products from local producers and growers.
You bring the wine, and we’ll take care of the rest!
The concept is simple. You purchase your ticket in advance, which reserves your seats at the SAISONS dinner table. A couple of weeks before the event, we will email you a flavour profile for one of the dishes on the menu so that you can shop for a fabulous wine to pair with that dish. The day of the dinner, bring your bottle of wine to share with the other guests, and when your dish is being served, you will be asked to describe and present your wine to the other guests attending so that they can understand the pairing. Fun? Yes! Our aim is to surprise, teach and inspire, as well as delight you with great food and a few surprises.
Seating is limited to 12 guests per dinner and the location will be revealed a few days before the event.
