Description

An inter-generational exchange between elders and young people from the Indigenous and Black Community in Adawe (Ottawa).

This one-day event about the history and power of Drums in Indigenous and African, Caribbean, and Black Culture will feature a community drumming circle and storytelling from members of the Black and Indigenous communities in Ottawa. Participants will learn the basics of drumming and the significance of preserving the tradition. The sounds will be recorded to create a collaborative community piece that is reflective of our shared vibrations.
