Description

Zabludowicz Collection is delighted to announce its 2017 Open Days on the island of Sarvisalo, Loviisa. In celebration of Finland’s 100 Year anniversary, we are offering the public the chance to visit all of the Collection’s activities on the island for free, on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 August 2017.

Three private locations on the island – Carpenter’s House, Herman’s and Suvikunta will be open to explore. On view will be outdoor sculptures, site specific installations, displays in three unique Art Barns including the iconic Large Field Array installation by Keith Tyson and a new installation by artist Rachael Champion. Since 2010, Zabludowicz Collection has initiated international residencies on the island, offering an open-ended environment for the production and discussion of art.

The number of visitors we can accommodate is very limited. Booking is essential.

Groups are restricted to 5 people and must come with their own transportation; we recommend carpooling where possible as parking is very limited. Visits take approximately 3-4 hours and there will be some refreshments available to purchase from a special pop-up café. To make sure you get the most out of your visit, we will be providing each booking with a timed schedule for each site on the island.

Due to the uneven landscape, visitors with mobility issues may find accessing some of the sites difficult and we recommend all visitors to come with sturdy footwear and suitable outdoor clothing.

Sarvisalo is located approximately 90 minutes drive east of Helsinki and is connected to the mainland by a road bridge.
