We can't wait to see you!

Schedule:

  • Noon: Welcome and announcement from our Executive Director
  • 12:30: Group photo for #NoOneAsksForIt and Sexual Violence Prevention Month (Wear Purple!)
  • 12:30 - 2:00: Enjoy refreshments, tour our Centre, meet our staff, and stop by for a snap in our selfie booth!

About #NoOneAsksForIt:

One of the biggest hurdles people face after a sexual assault is the notion that somehow they “asked for it” by what they were wearing, where they were, what they were doing or drinking. This is victim-blaming.

On the first Friday of every May, people across our province wear purple to take a stand against victim blaming, and to mark the beginning of Sexual Violence Prevention Month. This campaign is called #NoOneAsksForIt!

Whether you are able to attend our open house or not, we encourage you to wear purple on May 5th, and tell people why you are doing it. Post to social media with the hashtag #NoOneAsksForIt to get a conversation going. Let's stand in solidarity with survivors.
