Event description

Description

We're thrilled to be running this popular workshop again!

This Japanese hand stitching technique was traditionally used to mend and reinforce fabric. In this workshop we will discuss the stitching techniques of Sashiko, Boro, and quilting and their modern use in craft techniques and visible mending. Through the use of the running stitch, an amazing variety of patterns can be achieved. Students will learn the basics of Sashiko stitching and create a library of patterns. Folks are also encouraged to bring a piece of clothing to mend. (denim jeans work well) and a mug for tea!

Materials provided
Sashiko needle

Chalk pencil
Fabrics
Written reference materials

plus 10% off all Erin Templeton bags & vintage too!

FAQs

What's the refund policy?

If you have paid for a class and are unable to attend, we can issue you a full refund or a credit up to 30 days prior to a workshop. After 30 days we cannot offer a refund/credit as it is a substantial investment for us and vacancies can be hard to fill. Whenever possible, we encourage you to have someone else take your place. If it is necessary for The Craft Lab to cancel a class, students will be notified and offered another class or a full refund.
