The band will also perform Pageant by Vincent Persichetti, MESA Overture by Monte Keene Pishny-Floyd, Wallflower Waltz by Robert Russell Bennett, Palladio by Karl Jenkins, Selections from Washington: Behind Closed Doors and music from Sweeney Todd.

Doug is a well known musician, director, and educator in Saskatoon. He is in demand as a leader and instrumentalist in many genres. He regularly performs on saxophones, other woodwind instruments, as well as Double and Electric bass. Doug has performed with many groups in Saskatoon; the Saskatoon Symphony, Saskatoon Jazz Orchestra, Saskatoon Saxophone Quartet, Saskatoon Concert Band, Solstice, and the Fireside Singers. He is currently a Director/Conductor with Saskatoon Community Bands.

A founding member of the Saskatoon Saxophone Quartet, Doug performed throughout Western Canada, and appeared at international congresses. This group commissioned and performed many new pieces for the ensemble and was recorded and broadcast by CBC radio multiple times.

Doug has performed with touring Musicals in Saskatoon such as Grease and Chicago. He is very involved in the Saskatoon Musical Theatre community, having been music director for Saskatoon Summer Players, Broadway Bash, and Ppl r Ppl Productions.

Doug has previously performed Watter’s Rhapsody with the University of Saskatchewan Wind Orchestra and the University of Manitoba Wind Ensemble.

The Saskatoon Concert Band is Saskatoon’s premiere community concert band, is an inclusive performance group and has been performing in Saskatoon and area for over 60 years. The group performs a wide range of music; orchestral transcriptions, original wind literature, light classics, marches and Broadway show tunes.

Tickets are $20 general admission, $10.00 for seniors and students, children under eight are admitted free of charge. Tickets are available online at saskatoonconcertband.ca, from Band Members, and are available at the door on the evening of the performance.
