Saudan Couloir Ski Race Extreme presented by Corona & WSSF

What better way to finish off the winter season then with the 18th edition of the Saudan Couloir Ski Race Extreme brought to you by Corona and WSSF!

The extreme race of legend and lore, it will bring out legends of ski and snowboard racing, big mountain pros, and a healthy dose of amateur skiers and snowboarders who aren’t afraid to charge.

With over 2500 Vertical Feet of Thigh Burning Hell! Quite possibly the steepest ski race in the world, this is a true test of fitness, skill, balance and courage!

Followed up by an Afterparty and Awards ceremony at the Longhorns.

Schedule

April 15th

7:00pm - 9:00pm Check in and Bib pick-up - Longhorns *two forms of acceptable ID will be required to enter the premises

April 16th - (April 17th Weather Day, you need to be available both days)

7:30am - 8:30am - Late Check-in at Blackcomb Daylodge

9:30am - 10:15am - Partial Course Inspection (Bibs Mandatory) Saudan Couloir - accessible from 7th Heaven Chair

10:35am - Course Sweeper leaves start to clear the course. Athletes start to clear course.

10:45am - Forerunners Start - all competitors off course.

11:00am - Race Start Time. Racers will run in bib number order. Start interval is 1 min.

7:00pm -Awards Party at Longhorns Saloon *two forms of acceptable ID will be required to enter the premises

Ski | MEN 19-34, Ski | MEN 35-49, Ski | MEN 50+

Ski | WOMEN 19-39, Ski | WOMEN 40+

Snowboard | MEN 19-34, Snowboard | MEN 35+

Snowboard | WOMEN 19+

* Age is as of April 16, 2022

Participants must be 19 years of age as of April 16, 2022.

Podium Prizing will be award to Overall Ski and Snowboard 1st, 2nd, 3rd.

Running order for Age Categories will be random within each Class and the Classes will start as follows:

Men 50+, Women 40+, Men 35-49, Women 19-39, Men 19-34, Snowboard Categories.

We reserve the right to adjust age classes according to registration numbers.

Important Changes for 2022

As this event was a late edition to the season due to the ongoing Covid-19 situation there will not be any prize money pool this year. The reduced price of this event compared to previous years reflects this change.

There will not be a separate pro or amateur categories for this race. Ski and Snowboard Age Categories are open to anyone who is ready to test themselves in the Saudan Couloir.

We are extremely fortunate to be able to bring this event back this season and will still have podium prizing available from our great sponsors.
