Please join Greenwood Singers on a fun-filled journey through comical chansons with its presentation of Scherzo: Encore - Humour in Music (Italian for “joke”), a program of choral music with humorous texts proudly presented by Snyder & Associates LLP. Founder & Artistic Director Robert de Frece invites you to enjoy the lighter side of choral music from Renaissance to Broadway music. The choir will be joined by pianist Helen Stuart.

The concert will include humorous madrigals, Norman Luboff’s Much Ado About Nothings (Thirteen Pardoxical Pithy Paraphrases), selections from Randall Thompson’s Americana, Eric Whitacre’s Animal Crackers on words by Ogden Nash, and Ward Swingle’s setting of Shakespeare's It Was a Lover and His Lass. The program will conclude with selections from Lerner & Loewe’s My Fair Lady.

Greenwood Singers is very grateful for its sponsors Snyder & Associates LLP, ReGenesis and The Bereznicki Family, as well as ongoing support from the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, Edmonton Arts Council and the City of Edmonton.

Greenwood Chamber Singers Society is a registered Canadian Charity. The support of donors is critical for the choir to create and produce the concerts we do. Please consider donating online through Canada Helps - all donations receive a tax receipt.
