Science Rules @ the HiVE - Phylo Art Show + Game Event
Event Information
Description
Phylo Art Show + Game Playing
Ever wonder why kids seem to know more about Pokemon characters than real life creatures? Do you want to change that? Bring your friends and family and join us at the HiVE for an evening of science trivia + gaming gone wild!
Phylo is the brainchild of UBC professor David Ng. He launched the project in 2010 as a crowd-sourced card game aimed at teaching kids and adults alike about nature and the environment. He has brought together hundreds of artists, scientists, and teachers in a combined effort to make science fun by creating a game that engages and inspires us to experience the wonder of our planet! Recently, the World Science Fair and Beaty Biodiversity Museum commissioned their own versions of the Phylo game, proving that science does in fact rule!
