Event description

Description

Surround yourself with seasonal color from plants, welcome in the summer season with color exploration. In this class we explore working with local natural pigments to create a palette of natural hues. We dive deep into the practices of natural dyeing in tune with the earths rhythm, mapping our sensory experience onto cloth through alchemy color practices. We cover all aspects of getting started with creating natural color, working with fibers, PH modifiers, and mordants, ethical harvesting & more. Students leave with the skills to explore their environments with a new perspective.

Each person will take home sample dye booklets, a natural color 101 zine, and 3 - 4 dyed fabrics which they can create with, 1 yard each person.

All materials provided.
