Seedy Saturday: Starting seeds indoors
Event Information
Description
The Seedy Saturday workshop series is back for its third year!
Join instructor Tamiae Squibb for our first workshop of the gardening season on how to start from seed. Growing your own seedlings allows you to control the heritage and type of plants you'll get - this is important to preserving the integrity of seeds and allows gardeners to avoid genetically modified plants.
Starting from seed requires planning and can be intimidating. Tamiae will go over when to start which plants over the season (and which ones to sow directly), how to take care of your seedlings, and the process of transplanting them into an outdoor environment.
The Seed Sharing Library will be open and seeds will be available for participants to take home. Please bring any seeds you've saved to donate to the library if you have them.
This event is free but registration is required as seating is limited. Light refreshments will be served. The library is wheelchair accessible.
