This one day program will introduce you to core skills and practices from the Mindful Self-Compassion Program developed at UCSD by Dr.Christopher Germer (Harvard) and Dr. Kristin Neff (Texas).
In this didactic and experiential training workshop, you will learn the powerful practices of Mindfulness and Self-Compassion from inside out: that is by applying Mindful Self-Compassion in your lives, you can better use it in your professional work for more effective engagement and interventions. In this intensive training workshop you will be presented with new evidence-based strategies to manage stress, anxiety, depression, pain and other conditions but as well you will be introduced to new powerful micro self-care practices. The aim of the workshops is two-fold: firstly, to enhance professional skills and secondly, to apply self-care practices so that at the end of the workshop you feel refreshed and revitalised.
Participants are encouraged to take this training primarily for personal development. Our ability to teach others depends largely on having experienced the transformative power of self-compassion in our own lives with our own emotional challenges. Group discussions will focus primarily on personal practice and experience, but time will also be allocated for professional conversation.
