Self-Defense Application and the Legal Liabilities
About this event
This workshop is designed for martial artists, martial arts instructors and the citizen-defenders.
The 6-hour workshop addresses what you may be legally permitted to do if you were being threatened, assaulted or robbed. The workshop offers clarification on martial arts techniques, the use of "self-defense weapons", and potential liabilities with carrying an everyday carry knife or tactical pen (EDC). The workshop will be a blend of theory and micro-scenarios to allow participants to apply their perceptions and decision-making process.

REQUIRED: Personal facemask, hand sanitizer, clean / disinfected indoor mats shoes (no boots)
OPTIONAL: Notepad, pen, laptop for taking notes
PARKING: Free on site
BREAKS: Participants are responsible for their own snacks and hydration. There is a washroom on site but no microwave.

Chris Mandigma is recognized as an authority and specialist in the area of Close-Quarter Comabtives (CQC) and Use of Force tactics for law enforcement in Canada. He is a retired law enforcement officer and was a former instructor for the Federal Government of Canada.
Chris specializes in empty-hand combat, edged and impact weapons and the integration of firearms for law enforcement and protective services. He has instructed Use of Force training and CQC across North America. With a background in striking, grappling and weapons-based martial arts, Chris is ranked as a TRICOM Master Instructor under the direct tutelage of Tuhon Jared Wihongi.
