New to Canada? Want to explore the idea of starting a business in Canada?

Job Skills in partnership with Aurora Public Library is offering a free workshop for newcomers over 2 days:

PHASE I - April 3, 9:30 am to 3:00 pm, Lebovic Room
− Find out if Self-Employment in Canada is right for you
− Legal forms of business ownership and how to register your business
− Licensing and regulations to start a business
− Financing Options
− Business Taxation

PHASE II – May 1, 9:30 am to 3:00 pm, Lebovic Room
− Your business concept
− Market research
− Sales channels
− Individual coaching

Self-Employment Pathways for Newcomers is a free program which helps newcomers explore the idea of starting a business in Canada. It is delivered each month at various locations throughout York Region, North York and Scarborough and is open to Permanent Residents (or Applicants with letter from IRCC pending approval for permanent residence), Convention Refugees and Live-in Caregivers, with a minimum CLB Level 5. This program is funded by Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada.
