Self Regulation RESET!
Event Information
About this event
It isn't a secret that one of the biggest things AD[H]Ders struggle with the most is SELF - REGULATION. This is true for other Neurodivergent folk as well, individuals who self identify as having a sensitive nervous system ie: struggling with Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria or intense emotionality.
Self regulation is the cornerstone of early childhood development. It is SO SO SO critical for creating a healthy internal environment for Neurodivergent kids AND (most importantly) it is taught through co-regulation with a mature nervous system (parents/caregivers).
For many of us, we weren't raised in homes where our parents or caregivers had the tools to support themselves, while trying to support us. Maybe you were a kid who was labelled 'needy', 'too much/sensitive', 'problematic', or a 'trouble maker' and often felt alone, misunderstood, and ostracized at home or school. If you are like me, and received your diagnosis in adulthood, then you likely spent many years wondering if there was something wrong with you, struggling or feeling like you were behind in life. The truth is, you didn't have the answers you needed to access the tools and resources necessary to really support your growth. Until now...
Whether you have a formal diagnosis or not, taking your health, wellbeing and growth into your own hands is so empowering. For parents, having the tools to support yourself so you can be present and foster a healthy environment for your Neurodivergent child is such a gift!
Join me for 45 minutes and experience a self regulation reset. You will learn some useful tools including Conscious EFT's 'Toning the Nervous System' that can be implemented daily to keep yourself regulated in the moment, and help you move out of 'fight, flight or freeze' quicker with more ease. You'll learn about body states, the autonomic nervous system and why it isn't your fault you may feel 'stuck' in an emotional state for longer than you'd like.
Most importantly - we're going to slow down, offer ourselves some grace, self compassion and for f* sakes, allow ourselves to breath and just be without expectations or obligations.
Full disclosure - there may be some swearing, laughs and fun had during our time together. If any of those things offend you or are not appealing, likely this workshop is NOT for you!
