Event description

Description

Artists of all ages and skill levels invited to be part of our new community mural!

Yorkton has been selected as one of 150 communities across Canada to participate in the Canada 150 Mosaic project.

Godfrey Dean Art Gallery and the City of Yorkton are proud to support the creation of the mural by hosting painting sessions and would like to invite you, your class and your friends, family and partners to participate.

Everyone is invited to create their own painted tile. The materials are provided and there is no charge. All are welcome, from beginners to experienced artists!

School groups are welcome! Just register your class in groups of 10. There is a limit of 40 per session but we can accommodate a larger number, just call us at the Dean Gallery (306) 786-2992.

This portrayal of Yorkton will consist of over 500 individual tiles painted with designs that visually depict what living in Yorkton means to each of us as individuals. The tiles will form a 24 by 24 mural that will link us to the rest of Canada.

Please join us at the Land Titles Building (next to Godfrey Dean Cultural Centre 49 Smith St. E ) for a FREE one hour painting workshop on the following days.

  • September 21, 2017 Seven workshops, start times from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

  • September 22, 2017 Seven workshops, start times from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

  • September 23, 2017 One workshop from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
