As your friends and colleagues may be rushing to "March Break" vacations, you are invited to stay in Richmond Hill for a Flute & Guitar Serenade close to home. The Clearly Musical Home Concert Series features local musicians in up-close experiences in the Heart of Richmond Hill. You will have the opportunity to clearly see and hear the musicians and ask questions to learn more about the music, techniques of performance and the performers too! Everyone Gets A Front Row Seat!
Flutist Jaye Marsh currently plays with Orchestra Toronto and Opera Bel Canto and is an active freelancer in the GTA. She was previously principal flutist with the Ontario Pops Orchestra, the Heliconian Chamber Orchestra, Kindred Spirits Orchestra and Co-Principal with the Greater Toronto Philharmonic. In addition to performing, Jaye is an active private teacher in her East Wind Flute Studio and a sought-after clinician in local schools.
Guitarist Lawrence Barley performs with Jaye to form the Celebration Duo. Their engaging style and versatile playing brings audiences together with beautiful classical pieces and custom arrangements of well known standard crooner songs, popular radio music and jazz tunes.
Pianist and Host Joanna Grace was selected as the "Emerging Creative Talent" for Richmond Hill in 2016. View a short video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25Jn8C7AIdc Joanna will perform one piece for flute and piano of Canadian composer John Palmer for these March 10 & 11 concerts.
IMPORTANT: Please arrive between 7:30 and 7:50 pm. No latecomers are permitted. The private residence address in Richmond Hill and free parking details will be sent upon advance seat purchase of $30 incl. HST (Everyone Gets A Front Row Seat). Following the concert there is a Question & Answer period for learning more about the performers and the music you just heard and a Reception. The event concludes at 9:30 pm.
