Sewing 101: DIY Button-Up Shirt
Wed, 13 July 2016, 6:00 PM – 9:30 PM EDT
In this workshop participants will be making their own button up shirt. The workshop consists of 4 weeks (starting on July 13th, and ending on August 3rd), with 1 class each week that is 3.5hours long. Participants will start with the basics of sewing, fabric selection, machine usage, and pattern selection. Once patterns are selected, participants will make mock ups of their patterns to test fit and sizing. Corrections will be made and adjustments transferred to patterns. The adjusted pattern will be used to sew the final shirt. This workshop will be beginner-friendly so if you’ve never sewn before, feel free to join, no prior knowledge is expected.
In the first class, we will discuss all needed materials and where to get them. Those who have sewing machines available to them will be encouraged to bring them for the following classes, we will try to partner people together so that those without machines will be able to share as well. Participants will be required to provide their own patterns, fabrics, and notions.
