Event description

Description

The Sexual Assault Survivor Support Line is a peer-to-peer student run support line that trains its volunteers in crisis intervention, consent education, understanding sexual violence and campus rape culture, from an intersectional, anti-oppressive, pro-choice, survivor-centric lens.

We are currently seeking candidates to volunteer on the line. Candidates are required to register for the mandatory training from 10am-4pm on Saturday, January 27 and Sunday, January 28, 2018 in the Ryerson Student Centre. Candidates are also expected to send a resume and cover letter to sassl@rsuonline.ca indicating their interest and capacities in working on sexual education and sexual violence support. Approved candidates will be contacted to confirm the training details. Please note that not every person is suited to work on the support line; however, the line also has volunteer opportunities for outreach, research and event planning.

We encourage candidates of all genders and all candidates are expected to abide by the Ryerson Students' Union Equity Statement and policies. We reserve the right to deny candidates the opportunity to volunteer on the line.
