Welcome to our annual celebration of Burns’ Night!  The evening will include Piping in of the Haggis, Burns’ poetry, song, dance and copious band performances by the SFU Pipe Band and the RMM Pipe Bands.  Traditional Scottish fare and updated regional dishes will be served.  Dancing after dinner and performances. Whiskey and other libations available.

With a membership of 130+  players, rising talent throughout the bands  and exciting prospects for upcoming appearances and contests, the Robert Malcolm Memorial pipe bands appreciate your continued support and look forward to seeing you!

Special rates on overnight accommodations at the Executive Plaza Hotel Metro Vancouver are available on a first come first basis.  Please ask for the "Take the Elevator Home" Room rates when booking.



Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? All ages welcome.  Alcohol is available at the event. ID may be required.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? Location is within walking distance from the Lougheed Skytrain Station. Parking at the Executive Plaza Hotel Metro Vancouver is  FREE for the event. Please register your vehicle with event organizers on arrival.

What's the refund policy? As this is a fundraiser to support our youth music program, we greatly appreciate your donation. 

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? No a physical ticket is not required.  You will have to provide the name that the tickets were purchased under to gain entry.

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable? Yes

What can I bring to the event?
Your love of Scottish music and your willingness to support our youth program through our silent auction.

What is the refund policy? As this is a fundraiser to support our youth music program, we greatly appreciate your donation.

Is there assigned seating? Table assignments are given to all ticket holders. Table are groups of 10 or 12. If you have a specific seating request please email us with your request.

What do I do if I have a food allergy or specific diet restriction? Please let us know by email, we will do what we can to accommodate.

The Simon Fraser University (SFU) Pipe​ Band​ ​has garnered​ reputation​ as one​ of​ the​ world’s​ most accomplished​ pipe​ bands​ and​ a​ Canadian​ musicicon.​ Having​ won​ no less​ than​ six worldchampionships and​ recorded​ albumsin​ some​ of the world’s​ most​ prestigiousconcerthalls,theband​ continues​ to​ push the​ boundaries​ of​ the​ artistic​ world with​ Scotland’s​ nationalinstrument.​ The SFU​ Pipe​ Band​ rose​ to prominence​ in the1 980s before​ winning​ their​ first​ WorldChampionship in1995​ and​ again​ in1996, becoming​ the first​ pipeband​ from​ outside​ of​ the​ United​ Kingdom​ to​ win​ the title more than once.​ Since then,the​ band has​ played​ at​ venuesincluding​ the​ Sydney​ Opera​ House,​ Carnegie​ Hall,and​ the​ Lincoln Centre​ in​ New​ York.​ 

The band placed 5th for the third year in a row in August at the 2019 World Pipe Band Championships under Pipe Major Alan Bevan.



The​ Robert​ Malcolm​ Memorial​ PipeBand​ is​ the​ SFU​ Pipe​ Band’s​ youth and adult development organization,​ consisting of​ four bands​ and beginner​ instructional​ program.It was​ foundedi n1994​ after​ two​ members of​ the​ SFUPipeBand,​ Robert​ and Malcolm,​ were​ killed​ in​ anautomobile​ accident.​ Since​ then,​ the band has​ grown​ into​ one​ of the​ world’s​ largest​ and​ mostsuccessful​ youth​ pipe​ band​ organizations.​ The Robert Malcolm Memorial Grade 3 band travelled to Maxville, Ontario this year to compete in the 2019 North American Pipe Band Championships at the Glengarry Highland Games, taking home 6th place in the challenging Grade 3 category. The Robert Malcolm Memorial Grade 2 band took a road trip to Pleasanton, California, bringing home 1st place overall in the Grade 2 band category, placing 1st place in both the MSR and Medley at the 2019 Caledonian Club of San Francisco Games.
