Trust & Estate Planning

About this Event

Please join us for the first Talk to the Experts Segment on Trust & Estate Planning.

We will be answering a series of common questions, such as:

  • I am retired and have various forms of income. How to I manage my tax?
  • I am a business owner and I’m planning my estate. What concerns should I have about my business?
  • I hear of people saving tax by using a Trust. What is a Trust and do I need one?

There is value for many individuals in the segment. Specifically if you are near or in retirement and have assets more than just your principal residence, or you own a business or holding company.

About the Expert:

Nizam Shajani, CPA, CA, MBA Partner

Nizam has been fortunate to work in large and medium-sized accounting firms and is now proud to be a partner at Shajani LLP. This passion allows him to bring forth ambition and ideas that provide the utmost advantage to his clients.

His experiences have allowed him to gain the skills to analyze financial statements and business processes. Nizam has been involved in many areas of public accounting including audits, reviews and notices to readers for both public and private entities. He has enjoyed providing consulting and tax-planning advisory services that include preparation of documents for court proceedings and dispute resolutions, corporate reorganizations and the development and enhancement of business processes.

While working with one of the Big Four, where he spent most of his time articling, he gained experience in public company audits and completed the CA School of Business modules. Then he moved on to a mid-sized accounting firm, continuing to work with public company audits, and branched out to tax, reviews and other engagement. But it’s here, at Shajani, where he found passion in higher-level accounting. Nizam strives to bring this passion to work every day. The completion of an M.B.A. from the University of Liverpool, specializing in Accounting and Finance, has allowed him to provide consulting services at a preeminent level.

Giving back to my community is also important to Nizam and the entire Shajani LLP team. Nizam has been a member of the taxation and finance committee of the local Chamber of Commerce where he is able to provide insight and drafts at the grassroots level for the Chamber’s policies in this area. Also he has taken on the role of a facilitator at the CA School of Business where he provided online instructor services to CA students.

His bio would not be complete without mentioning his lovely wife Zahra, and two children, Shaheena and Rahmaan. Each of them brings joy, and when he is not with them, working, teaching, or studying, he enjoys playing a round of golf and traveling.

This is a virtual event and will take place online via ZOOM.
