Does your child have a dramatic imagination? Love to perform? Love designing and building? Want to give them an unforgettable experience to meet new friends while exploring Shakespeare with professional staff and a group of talented young theatre-lovers?

Join our 2020 Shakespeare For Kids Summer Camp in Weston Today!

July 6th– July 17th The Groundlings (ages 7-11)

Times: 9:00am-4:00pm

Cost: $575 per child

Location: Shakespeare in Action's studio in the Artscape Weston Common

This year Shakespeare for Kids features the Groundlings (ages 7-11) and King's Company (ages 12-15)! Children from across Toronto and the GTA will come together for two weeks, to design, build, and perform, in an adaptation of one of Shakespeare's plays -- all while being around professional actors preparing for Shakespeare's in Action's annual, outdoor performance of Shakespeare in the Shell, northwest Toronto's newest accessible outdoor summer theatre production.

The participants will get to learn what it takes to design costumes, sets, and props for their show with a professional designer while using creative skills and ingenuity. They will also be coached by the SIA team of professional artists to create a final performance for friends and family to be presented outdoors by the Artscape Weston Common.

This unique experience for kids and youth will allow your camper to hone their craft while seeing, learning, and interacting with professionals doing the same! This could include, but is not limited to, seeing a professional show, talk-backs with some of the actors or designers, and even having a workshop with one of the actors themselves!

Plays: TBA

Spend the summer having fun, making friends, and performing a Shakespeare play outdoors at Shakespeare in Action's new theatre home!
