Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Description

This is a 3-day, visionary conference for wellness practitioners and healing arts professionals, which aims to catalyze the talent, relationships, and resources within the healing arts community to improve our individual and collective impact in the communities we serve. Through a combination of keynote speakers, interactive workshops, ceremony, networking, discussion groups, and celebration, we will nurture a collective identity, and create a common agenda and sense of agency to initiate change post-conference.

Who

The conference is ideal for those who would like to work together to turn challenges faced by our communities into opportunities and collective mobilization. In particular, it would be great for wellness practitioners, educators, social enterprises, community leaders, students, and change agents.

When

The conference will be held from November 17-19th, and funds raised will be used to support collaborative change initiatives post-conference, such as improved service delivery, new models for working, action strategies, and service-informed policy changes.

How

There are 4 key pillars that we are asking all participants to uphold:

Be Responsive to Both the Issues and the Opportunities: Bringing the issues from our clients and professions forward so we can create solutions, individually and collectively.

Strive for Common Ground in Ideas / Knowledge Exchange: Having discussions and thought exchange, both within and between disciplines, to increase awareness, learn from challenges and opportunities, create cohesion, and find common ground.

Improve our Ability to Create Meaningful, Lasting Change: Individual, organizational, community and systems-level change is needed. It's time we create a common agenda
to be that change.

Envision an Organized and Influential Community: Our professions need to be recognized as an integral part of community wellness, and we as community need to become recognized as an organized and influential professional community.
