Share SHIFT 2017: Merging Mindsets

Event Details

Leading any element of a business is difficult. Leading in a manner that enables that business to both thrive and endure over time is a daunting challenge: today is hard enough without thought of the years to come. Research reveals that roughly 70% of today’s businesses will not successfully pass the baton to the next generation of leaders. Merging Mindsets will provide the tools to buck reverse this trend and positively impact your organization and its leadership structure.

The format of SHIFT 2017 pairs a seasoned, continuing leader with 1-3 junior leaders from your organization to begin working together to increase functional understanding; to merge the mindsets inherent to your professional roles. Your engagement begins well ahead of the event. Expect to receive a compelling video to prime you for the conference, plus a short survey so we can tailor some of the content to your unique needs and interests. On the day of, we will gather both as a larger group, and in your smaller team to collaborate and learn. Topics covered will form around three broad themes:

1. Self-Awareness

Participants explore differing perspectives, using reflective learning to incorporate greater awareness into choices and behaviors

2. Barriers

Participants begin exposing the personal and cultural barriers that limit inclusive cultures and reduce organizational knowledge transfer

3. Leadership

Participants identify their role in leading positive change from their current position

As a Principal with FMI’s Center for Strategic Leadership, Michael brings his 35+ years of experience in the construction industry to bear on the challenges confronting today’s leaders. His bold and progressive thought leadership has made him a beacon for the emerging workforce and forward thinking organizations.

“The SHIFT continues. This year, emerging and continuing leaders dive in on September 13th to explore Merging Mindsets. Come with the unconscious problems that hold us back, leave with solutions and a personal commitment for change. Videos and technology will amplify the impact. Next level leadership is the result.”
