About this event

Walk in the footsteps of some of Kingston’s earliest residents and arrivals as they engage in a quest for health care in the Limestone City. The story of the establishment of one of Canada’s oldest public hospitals, Kingston General Hospital, is one full of success and sacrifice, triumph and tragedy. Join us for a fascinating look into the lives of those that lived, arrived and died here, as we unlock the secrets of Kingston’s medical history.

Details: Offering tours Friday-Sunday at 10:00am, 1:00pm and 3:00pm.

This walking tour is 1 hour 45 minutes in duration (20 minutes total walking time, 1.5km) and runs rain or shine! Please dress for the weather, bring water and protect yourself from the sun.

Physical distancing between groups of guests will be encouraged.

Our tour is family-friendly and includes a scavenger hunt and mystery letter decoding activity for kids!

Booking: Groups bookings are restricted to 12 guests. Please contact the Museum at or 613-548-2419 if you have trouble with the booking process.

Cost: $10 per group, max. 12 people

Visits to the Museum's galleries following the tour are welcome!

For indoor access to the Museum, proof of vaccination and masking are required. Given the Museum's proximity to and partnership with Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC), we continue to align our COVID-19 protocols with KHSC.
