Event description

Description

Join us to celebrate the contributions of the Social Innovation Generation (SiG) partnership.

SiG launched in 2007 with a mission to create and sustain a culture of social innovation in Canada. Founded as a partnership between four institutions – The McConnell Foundation, MaRS, the University of Waterloo and PLAN Institute – with a backbone national office, SiG has worked to seed and nurture an ecosystem that supports the development and scaling of impactful solutions to Canada's social and environmental challenges.

The partnership will come to a close in December 2017 – and you’re invited to honour this unique collaboration.

Book launch

To mark the occasion, we will also be launching a book:

Social Innovation Generation: Fostering a Canadian ecosystem for systems change

The book chronicles the creation of SiG, but more importantly highlights some of the approaches and principles we explored and practiced to help realize our mission. Every ticketholder receives a book and extra copies will be available for purchase at the door.

Celebrations will kick off at 6:00 p.m., followed by a reception at Mercatto inside MaRS from 7:30 p.m.

We look forward to seeing you there.

About Social Innovation Canada

The SiG Sunset Celebration is a signature event of Social Innovation Canada – a week of events taking place across the country. Enjoy learning seminars and sessions, inspiring and provocative future-facing talks, vital conversations about indigenous education in Canada and the first annual practitioner-led social innovation gathering, which bookends our own event: Spark: Canadian Social Innovation Exchange.

Get in touch if you're hosting a social innovation event we can help promote.
