Sight-on-SITE Barrie
:an exchange of Art inspired by a place or memory…
A city to city art exchange series, Sight-on-SITE started in 2012, by connecting artists across regions in southern Ontario. Toronto artists’ works are “migrating” to exhibition sites in Barrie this Spring. Artify curator service has assembled seven Toronto artists as participants at the Barrie Art Club during the Barrie Spring Art Tour and as guest artists at the Edge Gallery for the month of May.
The Artify group includes: Susan L. Brown, Chandi Jayawardena, Tim Johnston, Masood Omer,Terry Reeves, Margot Roi, Janice Ykema.
Sight-on-SITE- the MISSION
Individual artists and art groups are finding unique opportunities to expand their audiences, market their art and participate in a new model of inter-city support for art production and sale. Local commercial galleries will have access to an enhanced pool of artist-clients. Shows will provide additional attractions for local tourism as well local visitors. Sight-on-SITE project events are effective hubs for local short-term employment opportunities, fundraising activities and art-related workshops.
