    Have you ever thought about learning to make your own jewelry? Now is the perfect chance! Never made jewelry before? All skills are welcome!! In this class you will receive instruction from a local goldsmith with over 20 years experience in the jewelry industry. You will receive step by step instruction on how to create your very own heart and infinity bracelet.

    In the process we will discuss the different properties of metal. As well as how to care for your new sterling silver piece of jewelry. Class instruction will include beginner sawing and piercing techniques, metal surface treatments and textures. Students are encouraged to bring any crafting pliers they may have, but extras will also be provided.

    Skills covered in the class:

    - beginning filing and finish work

    - sterling silver storage and treatment knowledge

    - surface texturing and metal manipulation skills as well as final brushing and finishing techniques

    Tasha from Rhythm Jewelry has over 20 years of experience in the jewelry industry, and over 12 years of experience as a bench goldsmith. She has multiple certificates in Goldsmithing, stone setting, jewelry design and jewelry CAD. She has spent a significant amount of time training/mentoring under several goldsmith's and current mentors and teaches goldsmith classes. We're so excited to have Tasha teach and mentor at Saskatoon Makerspace!
