Event description
SING! in Concert - Primetime Salutes Vegas with Micah Barnes and guests.

About this Event

Having cut his teeth in the cabarets and jazz clubs of Toronto while still a teenager Micah became a well loved singer songwriter on the Queen St. scene before joining The Nylons and touring the world. Recording with the a capella pop act brought Micah into the global music scene and landed him in Venice Beach, California where he launched a solo career touring the U.S.

Micah has just completed recording a new album which will transport the listener back to the days of legendary Vegas showrooms when the worlds top entertainers worked the strip: featuring songs first recorded by Sammy Davis Jr, Tony Bennet, Nat King Cole, Mel Torme and Frank Sinatra.

Micah is also a highly respected vocal coach who has coached on CBC TV’s “How To Solve A problem Like Maria” and counts Emmy award winning actress Tatiana Maslany (“Orphan Black”) among his clients.

Joining Micah will be tap dancer Travis Knights, a cappella singers and SING! Toronto Festival Favourites, the Ault Sisters and The Watch. A special appearance by the Magic of Orion will delight audiences in this blockbuster concert.

Travis Knights is a tap dancer, performer and choreographer who has realized his dreams, pounding rhythms on wood floors all over the world. His talent and dedication have earned him audiences in Shanghai, Dusseldorf, Paris, New York and Vancouver to name a few.

A special feature of this concert is the presentation of the Slaight Music SING! Toronto 2020 Legacy Award to award winning singer and actress, Jackie Richardson. She has been called Canada’s reigning queen of jazz, blues and gospel, whose career includes performances in concert, radio, television and stage. She has performed across Canada and in countries around the world. Jackie has received NAACP, Juno, Betty, Dora, Jess, Gemini, TBS and Canadian Equity Association Lifetime Achievement Awards and Nominations and a Maple Blues Award for Lifetime Achievement. The Toronto Star named Richardson one of 180 people who have helped shaped the city since it was founded.

Hosted by award-winning music journalist and pianist, Bill King, this is a concert not to be missed.
